Bode Miller 'Leaning' Toward Retirement
Contemplates hanging it up after super-G crash
Miller underwent surgery to repair a severed hamstring tendon after crashing in the men's super-G.
In an exclusive interview with NBC Sports that aired on Saturday, pro skier Bode Miller said he is “leaning pretty heavy towards not going out there anymore” after sustaining a crash at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships on Thursday.
“At some point, enough things conspire together and [retirement] does stick,” Miller told NBC Sports. “I’m not one of those people who needs a grand showing-off or a parade. I just won’t be there.”
Miller is the winningest skier in U.S. history, with six Olympic medals and five world championships to his credit. He has also competed on five Olympic teams. In an interview with Yahoo News, Miller previously stated he would begin a career in horse racing after his competitive skiing concluded.
