John Bocek completed 5,801 pull-ups in 24 hours.
A Washington, D.C., man says he completed 5,801 pull-ups in a 24-hour period this past weekend, a mark that, if verified, would set a new world record, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
John Bocek, 34, submitted evidence of his feat to Guinness World Records and could be named the new world record holder in the next several weeks. If his achievement is validated, it would break the previous record of 5,101 pull-ups set by Michael Tufo just last month, according to Guinness.
Bocek completed his feat at a CrossFit gym in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, according to the Washington Post.
