Rick Lyke's reaction to his diagnosis of prostate cancer at 47 was a proactive one: He founded “Pints for Prostates,” an organization that promotes prostate cancer screening among men via the common bond of beer.
“Beer is a universal thing for men,” Lyke said to CNN. “Wherewomen get together and talk about health issues, men really don't, sowe try to use an atmosphere like a pub, where guys are a little bitmore relaxed, to talk about prostate cancer.”
Pints for Prostates goes on the beer festival circuit to spread its word. For more info, check out: lyke2drink.com.
