Originally from the coast of Maine, Caitlin Kelly has called the Adirondack Mountains home since graduating from St. Lawrence University in 2016, building community through her work with Women of the Adirondacks and The Adirondack Community Avalanche Project. She spent her twenties working in the woods, building and clearing trails for the Adirondack Mountain Club, and as an Interior Outpost Caretaker and Assistant Forest Ranger for New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation. In the winter she’s on skis as often as possible, whether deep in the backcountry or ski patrolling at Whiteface Mountain. She currently resides in Lake Placid, NY, where she works for North Country Public Radio. Her writing has appeared in Powder, Adirondack Life, Freeskier, the Ski Journal, Outside, and Ski, among other publications. If you sit too close to her on a chairlift, you may get some glitter on you.
