Kate Pitts
Kate Pitts was a National Park Service Ranger for a decade, providing environmental education and search and rescue services to visitors from worldwide. She first certified in Ashtanga with her primary teacher Cristina Martini of Santosha Shala in 2019 and then taught her first yoga programs to backcountry hikers at Grand Canyon National Park. She is certified in Yin by Durga Excursions and Yoga Nidra with iRest and is authorized as an Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary and Second Teacher by Manju Jois. She is honored to have completed teacher trainings with David Swenson and RichardFreeman and Mary Taylor.
In addition to hiking thousands of miles as a backcountry ranger, Kate has thru-hiked the Arizona Trail, Colorado Trail, John Muir Trail, and Southern Te Aroara, and enjoys doing yoga in the wilderness and in her tent. She now offers guided naturalist hikes and teaches yoga and mindfulness programs in Yosemite National Park.
