Miles Howard
Miles Howard is an author, journalist, and urban trail builder based in Boston. A former crew member for the Appalachian Mountain Club’s backcountry huts, he graduated from the University of Southern California and worked as a freelance writer for a decade—covering travel for outlets such as National Geographic, VICE, and The Boston Globe. In 2022, a visit to the San Francisco Crosstown introduced him to the concept of Instant Urban Trail-building, and he began designing the 27-mile Walking City Trail across Boston’s parks. He wrote the guidebook New England Road Trip and publishes MIND THE MOSS, a newsletter on weird hikes in New England.
