Annette McGivney is the author of 'Pure Land: A True Story of Three Lives, Three Cultures, and the Search for Heaven on Earth"
We’re wrapping up our first ever Outside Beyond Books Club pick this month: Pure Land: A True Story of Three Lives, Three Cultures, and the Search for Heaven on Earth by Annette McGivney. Now it’s time to dig in and talk about what we’ve just read. To kick things off, Outside features editor Elizabeth Hightower Allen sat down with McGivney for a wide-ranging conversation about the book's characters, the murder at the story's center, the ten years it took McGivney to write it, and the difficult decision to put herself in the book.
Listen to their conversation here. And after you do, head over to the Outside Beyond Books Club, where we talk all things culture and where McGivney will be participating in a discussion with readers on January 16 at 11 a.m.
