Lagerstrom recently moved into his 1986 Winnebago full time, so he’s downsized his worldly possessions.
Eric Lagerstrom competed in his first triathlon when he was 12, turned pro at 23, and is now a top competitor on the World Triathlon Series. He's also become a skilled videographer and often captures footage during his own races using GoPros and drones.
Lagerstrom currently lives in a 1986 Winnebago and we called him to talk about what gear he keeps in his home-on-wheels at all times.
I always travel with a jar of Adams 100% Natural Chunky. When I get to a race, I can just grab a loaf of bread and some honey or jam and I’m set for a quick meal.
My camera gear is with me at all time— I can carry most of it in one backpack. I have several GoPros for racing, a DSLR, a couple gimbals, and a drone. For my DSLR, I use the Panasonic Lumix GH3, which is small and compact enough to travel with.
The DJI Mavic Pro is portable enough to travel with and I can put it in a little backpack while I ride.
There is no problem in this world that can’t be tackled with a Red Bull and a Clif Bar. I’ve had so many workouts that were completely saved or turned around by the magical combination of caffeine and calories. I like the Sierra Trail Mix bars.
When you cross a bunch of time zones, melatonin is a must. It basically cues your body to start its sleep cycle, the same as when the sun goes down.
I edit all of my own video content— usually during long flights. I like my Asus gaming laptop for video editing because it’s fast and has a big screen.
I use Pioneer DJ headphones for long flights and editing videos. They're one of my favorite things I own.
Nothing beats an AeroPress for on-the-go coffee in my opinion.
