"Qualifying skims" for the World Cup will take place across North America this coming winter.
Banff, Alberta, will host the First Annual Pond Skimming World Cup on May 23, 2016, Curbed Ski reported Thursday.
Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine will team up with Powder magazine to host the event, which will take place alongside the 2016 Slush Cup at Sunshine Village, according to the company’s press release.
Qualifying skims for the event will take place across North America next winter. The company says more information about the Pond Skimming World Cup and qualifying events will be released in the coming months.
