The 2012 Tour of Flanders saw Belgian rider Tom Boonen take his third-career win as pre-race favorite Fabian Cancellara fractured his collarbone in four places in a crash. Cancellara, the reigning Olympic time trial champion, hit a water bottle and underwent surgery Monday. GreenEdge rider Sebastian Langeveld is also scheduled for surgery today after a high-speed collision with a spectator. The spectator did not appear to be injured. American George Hincapie also established a new record for most Tour of Flanders finishes when he crossed the race’s finish line for the 17th time.
