No matter how deep the powder is if your fingertips are slowly contracting frostbite on your pinkies, the skiing sucks. So we searched the web for the best-reviewed budget-minded ski gloves, then fielded tested a bunch ourselves. Here are our five favorite winter gloves under $75.
Colorado-based Flylow has a whole line of leather gloves made from pigskin, but we like the utilitarian Ridge, which comes pre-coated with Sno-Seal waterproof wax. The result is a warm, dry work-inspired glove that looks good on and off the mountain.
Like to mix a little ice climbing or ski touring into your season? The StormTracker is a do-it-all softshell glove that’s streamlined enough to offer superior dexterity for clutching ice axes and ski poles but is still warm enough to handle bitter conditions. Oh, and it’s touchscreen compatible, so you'll never miss an Instagram opportunity.
If you prefer mittens, take note of the Glissade, which has a warm fleece lining, waterproof insert, and a stretchy Pertex shell.
The Montana features a fleece lining with a Gore-Tex insert surrounded by 200-grams of synthetic insulation.
While some high-end gloves come with their own liner, many budget gloves don't so you may want to add your own. The Apex is made from merino wool for a slim, but warm next-to-skin layer that’s essential on the coldest days.
