Aero Bamboo Bike
She's a beauty, and she should slip through wind as well as her carbon counterparts
Technically, this bike is grass—just a helluva lot faster.
Bamboo bikes are nothing new. But we've never seen a bamboo aero bike before.
Built by the Bamboo Bicycle Club of London, this aero whip has a bamboo seat tube that tapers to accommodate an aero post, and a bamboo downtube that's thicker near the bottom bracket for added stiffness. All the cable routing is internal, and the bike is finished with an Ultegra build. Much of the frame is painted black, but raw bamboo peaks out in strategic spots to remind you what you’re riding.
