A century-old barn in the foothills of Washington state’s Cascade mountains.
Old barns—with their built-in, rustic charm—make great homes.
Case in point: this remodel of a 100-year-old, 3,875-square-foot barn in the foothills of Washington's Cascade mountains. To preserve the old-school feel, the designers exposed some of the original wood beams and internal plumbing, then refinished parts of the hardwood flooring and wallboards. A few of the original fixtures remain, too.
One of those fixtures, a bright white farmhouse sink, sits in the kitchen behind a pair of large windows overlooking the stunning property. We normally hate doing dishes, but with a view that good, we don't mind.
