The U.S. government just created our dream house and car
This tiny house and adventuremobile power each other, like good friends should.
The Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory just showed us the future of off-the-grid living. Not only did they use an enormous 3-D printer to build a tiny home and burly little hybrid adventuremobile, they also figured out how to make each device power the other, wirelessly.
On sunny days, solar panels charge the house's battery, which in turn charges the battery on the hybrid car via a wireless charging pad underneath the vehicle. The car can then send energy back to the house from its fuel-powered generator on cloudy days or at night.
Now if they can just print us some bikes and skis to match.
