The Polaroid Snap Instant Digital Camera stores photos on an SD card, but also has a built-in printer.
With phones in our pockets it’s easy to take a lot of photos. But what happens to those images? They sit in our library or end up on Instagram. That’s great, but remember the days when we used to actually print out pictures and stick them on the fridge?
The Snap Instant Digital Camera, announced by Polaroid in September, lets us do just that. It’s a digital camera that takes 10-megapixel photos and stores them on a micro SD, but it also has a built-in Zero Ink printer, which embeds heat-activated color pigments into the photo paper, rather than using ink or ribbons. Each print takes about a minute, and the camera can continue shooting during the process.
True to its name, the Snap is no DSLR. It’s short on advanced camera functions, but does let you enhance images prior to printing.
The camera will be available later this year. A 50 pack of compatible paper sells for $30 on Amazon.
