In the winter, Jessa Gilbert works as a snowboarding guide in British Columbia, but she doesn’t only love drawing lines in the snow. Gilbert is also passionate about drawing and painting the scenes around her in a sketchbook. “For some people, [being outside is] about going higher or further or faster,” she says. “For me, it’s not about that. It’s about being present, experiencing the places around you, and then translating that into physical pieces of artwork for other people to inspire them to get outside.” From Suunto’s Peak Creator Series, The Artist tells Gilbert’s story.
