When Dustin Grinnell learned that his Fulbright-National Geographic Fellowship application didn’t make the cut last fall, he quit his job and carried out the proposal on his own, traveling to China to learn about traditional Chinese medicine (documented on Instagram here). When he returned stateside, he took off on a 4,300-mile road trip on his 1982 Honda Nighthawk. Grinnell dedicated this video, produced in collaboration with Adrian Stratulat, to his father, whose favorite axiom inspired the journey: “Geologically speaking, a human life is only ten seconds long.”
