Dawa Yangzum Sherpa grew up in a rural village in the mountains of Nepal, and from an early age she knew that guiding was her calling. At 21 years old, she embarked on a quest to become the first Nepali woman to earn the industry's top certification from the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association. The IFMGA certification takes over five years and $30,000 to complete, and of the 6,937 certified guides worldwide, only 1.5 percent are female. Watch to meet this inspiring young woman change the game for female guides forever.
