Controversy has surrounded Northwest Wisconsin's Ojibwe tribe's practice of spearfishing for decades. In this film, the filmmakers profile Ojibwe member Jason Bisonette in an attempt to gain insight into the tradition. Bisonette grew up fishing with his older brothers and is now teaching his son, amidst the unrest, the same skills he learned as a boy. The Ways is a series from Wisconsin Media Lab addressing stories from native communities in the Great Lakes area.
