Shannon Galpin is a busy woman. The National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, producer of the film Afghan Cycles and founder of the nonprofit Mountain2Mountain has been working in Afghanistan for the past 7 years to empower women and girls in conflict zones through cycling. Now, she’s partnered with Liv Cycling in an effort to supply cyclists in Afghanistan with bikes and other equipment. In support of the Afghan women who dare to ride, a Global Solidarity Ride will take place on August 30, 2014, with events scheduled in more than 70 locations worldwide.
