In 2007, all cliff-jumping, diving, and climbing activities were banned at Summersville Lake, about 90 minutes east of Charleston, West Virginia. The ban came after several non-climbing related deaths. But then, in 2015, local climbing advocacy group New River Gorge Alliance of Climbers began working of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers on a one day permit to host an outdoor psicolbloc (another word for deep water soloing) competition on the lake. Wild and Wonderful from filmmaker Tara Kerzhner, documents the persistence it took to make the PsicoRoc event happen in 2016.
